Yeah- but if it is stated in the PHB that NOTHING can get through the wall of force, then THAT supercedes the ELH. Since the pHB is, afterall, a core book , while the ELH is supplementary

I completely agree. The ELH is a supplementary book.

Unfortunately, it doesn't state in the PHB that NOTHING can get through a Wall of Force. Instead, it outlines all of the necessary things, spells, breath weapons, material creatures, cannot be damaged. But it doesn't make a blanket statement, leaving room open for interpretation. Like air passing through.

Like I said, I wouldn't let air pass through a Wall of Force. Of course, this is only relevant if you can get a spherical, or otherwise completely sealed wall.
