Wilma - Biggest storm ever

"Biggest" may not be the best choice of adjectives; there's no mention in the article of its actual size.

The National Hurricane Center is calling it "the most intense Atlantic* hurricane ever recorded", based on the air pressure at its core (882 millibars). Low pressure in a hurricane correlates with higher wind speeds, and it's a Category 5 storm at the moment (though it's predicted that it won't be quite that strong when it reaches Florida, probably on Saturday, because it will be passing over cooler water).

* - typhoons (same kind of storm, different name) in the Western Pacific tend to be more intense in general than those in the Atlantic, because they have a lot more warm water to wander over and get stronger; the fact that they qualified the statement means that there's been at least one more intense one in the Pacific.

What sucks I live in Tampa, where I would evacuate to Ft Myers are both in the path. The crappy thing is you can't really plan. Do you go north or south. And once you evacute you end up riding out the storm in you car in the parking lot they call I-4. Will more than likely ride this one out in my apartment.

I really don't think we'll know where the damn thing is going to hit until it starts to turn to the northeast...
