Windhaven: Extremely delayed or elaborate hoax?

So, anyone heard anything out of Affinity Games recently? Should I still be holding onto some slim sliver of hope that Windhaven is going to be released?

They have not replyed to emails for months and months now. Give up hope for this one.

Too bad too. That original map they had posted was super!

Maybe the should look into publishing it as an imprint? I know Mystic Eye is willing to keep their eyes open for quality stuff, as demonstrated by open world press.

Windhaven looked to be very well done, and if they're facing a money crunch as opposed to a "we just didn't write it" crucnh, that's a good option.

Or barring that, even a PDF release would be something.

Though I would guess it's more a case of their ideas being more ambitious than their writing ability. (Writing is harder than people initially think)

Thanks, Joe! I appreciate that!

I was also looking forward to seeing this project come to life, but sometimes things just don't work out. I have no idea what actually happened, but it appeared to be very ambitious (and costly) to me.

From the bits and pieces I have heard online (all rumor as far as I am concerned), the project ran out of money. It was far along and would probably only need an injection of a small amount of cash to get back on track. I have tried four times to contact the main person listed on the site and have hear no response.

It looked so cool too.

As someone who worked on Bluffside, my guess is that they figured out how much work is actually required to make a detailed city, and they probably said to heck with it. It took 5 people over a year to write Bluffside. It's not for the faint of heart.

edit: grammar is a good thing.
