I've tried out Beta1, pre-Beta2, post-Beta2 and RC1, RC1 being the best of the bunch by a long shot. Unfortunately my graphics card (Geforce4 460 go) doesn't support sub pixel shading or some such element of Directx 9, so it won't use the whizzy 'glass' interface. For some screenshots and reviews of vista, it is worth looking at http://winsupersite.com/vista/ It is probably fair to say that even if there doesn't seem much whizzy stuff right now, it lays the foundation for some shatteringly different applications to be built in the future (with WPF and built-in hardware support some standard applications could easily have effects which equal that of dedicated games or movie 'imaginings' of user interfaces). The other problem that I have is that it doesn't seem to support my netgear wireless card at the moment, so I can't use it for internet surfing and other good stuff. There are a lot of differences to the way it is generally used, some of which will take a lot of getting my head around. If I was to point to one feature that I'll get it for, though, I'd probably point to 'saved searches' (which other O/Ss called virtual folders, or search folders or some such else). Basically it looks just like any other folder, but the contents are determined dynamically in real time by the results of a query. This and the pervasive searching looks very promising. cheers
