Cryndon
An unnatural cold has swept into Cryndon, actually causing the underground rivers they use for ships to freeze over, slowing down trade. Rumors abound of ships being lost in the remaining waterways.

PALUDOSUS
A period of relative calm has descended on the Serevan Plains with the onset of winter, sporadic raids from tribes operating under the banner of Thelomal Sayte still continue but only by very small bands. Refugees from the fighting continue to move south to the banks of the Cryndon river where a number of encampments have been established.
Forces loyal to the crown continue their operations against Thessas and Shastanaz holdings and against suspected members of the secret organisation behind the recent assasination attempt on the emperor. The situation in the Forest of Gaunt remains confused with battles and raids between Paludosan forces and the Shastanaz rebels complicated by attacks on both sides by hostile local tribes and monstrous inhabitants of the deep forest. It is reported that a large battle took place at the Bone Barrows where a large force of Shastanaz troops, supported by necromancers was defeated.

Caedmon

(( here goes...))

As work on the Northgate continues (after nearly a full year of work the structure is close to half complete) the northern army finishes retraining and prepares for any incursions by the giants. However, there is still no sign of further attacks. This no-news is unsettling, just what could the giants be plotting?

Prince Eldynon's progress at the Academy is exceptional. His talents for the arcane arts augment his ability for warfare.

Mittendien

The winter is the harshest in a great many years. Unnatural cold blows out of the giant-held north, and blizzards are more frequent and more deadly than anyone can remember. The majority of the population of the kingdom, as rural farmers, is fortunately well-prepared, hunkering down for the winter with their well-stocked woodsheds, but the urban poor do not fare so well.

Meanwhile, the army continues to snap up any and all resources that may become weapons against the frost giants. The Kaiser appoints Franz Rouchmarch, a well-known wizard and friend of the royal family, to an official advisor position, instructing him to find a way to better organize the kingdom's magical resources. Rouchmarch immediately begins bringing magical practicioners from across the kingdom to the capital.

KINRISAR

The kingdom continues about its business. Much anticipation in the cities is felt in preparation of the Festival of Light. Rumors fly about how a big surprise will occur during that celebration and King Hadri is centered in most of these.

The usual activities of banditry and piracy continue to take place along the coastlines and border regions of the kingdom. In Crolon, the rumors of a kobold leader of the bandits has gained a foothold and becoming "common knowledge" amongst the people who talk about such things.

Gifts from Ulruz arrive in a large flotilla of merchantmen vessels. The messages sent with the gnomish people is as welcome as the craftsmen themselves. Many meetings are held to plan for this unexpected influx of skilled workers.

As happy as King Hadri is with the gifts and the gnomish craftsmen he is equally embarrassed about his lack of recognition of the importance of the date. A hurried summons is sent to the Hobgoblin nobles who are currently residing in their fiefs in Kinrisar. A great feast is held in their honor and gifts of silver and cloth are sent with them back to their holdings.

Two elven ships appear in the harbor of Pari Ka'ansa seeking shelter for the winter. They are welcomed and the officers given rooms in the royal palace. Their crews are put up in some of the nicer inns in town for the season. It is a great social feat this season to have some of the Elves of Lorlynia at ones party.

ULRUZ
Emperor Antonius concludes a massive series of gladatorial games, festivals, champion competitions and other tests of skill and strength in celebration of the one year anniversary of his final victory during the civil war. The celebrations continue for three months, the entire duration of the winter.

Emperor Antonius also sends word to Kinrisar's King Hadri of two special gifts, and an apology for not being able to send them sooner due to the civil war and reconstruction. The first gift is for the King's 35th birthday last year, belated. It is a vast shipment of unique spices, woods, craftgoods, and exotic animals all native to Ulruz.

The second gift is for both the 20-year anniversary of the end of the Yuan-Ti war in Kinrisar and the one year anniversary of the end of the civil war in Ulruz. The king of Kinrisar is gifted 1,000 well educated Gnome slaves, and half as many to each of the top three commanders who led Kinrisari forces in support of Antonius during the civil war. The 2,500 gnome slaves are shipped via a vast flotilla of merchantmen and their military escorts.

A decree goes to King Hadri and the three others, guaranteeing that any freed gnome will not be hunted by slavers as Ulruz normally would do - just so long as the gnomes don't return to Ulruz. Any who do will be considered fair game once more.

CEOMYR (the entire year)

CEOMYR - Winter 66

While battles raged thru the year, neither side has won any ground in the war. Early cool and rainy weather in autumn turned into a few early snows grinding what little war activities there were to a halt. The merchants profits suffered on both sides of the war and non-war economy was affected by the weather. The mood of the country is pensive and rapidly turning into rudeness as the unexpectedly heavy snow blankets the country.

CEOMYR - Autumn 66

Autumn turns cool and rains come early, this hampers any further war campaigns beyond what is convienent.

It becomes known that Thunder Island is over-run by a larger than normal number of lizard hatchlings.
After becoming clear that an unusual number of lizards still abound even after overpredation and then cannibalism takes place. Several merchants lead expeditions to cull the 'herd' for their meat and hides. Some come back with their gains... others never return.

CEOMYR - Summer 66

The war continues unabated. Some merchant families seem to have sucessfully organzed their businesses to prosper from war, while others clamour for it to end.

Rumors of strange occurances and general mayhem about the Thunder Island surface. Be it the early thaw or some other element, the great lizard population on the island is said to swell. While only a fool or someone in dire need would go there unprepared, the populace is reminded of this weekly as stories of rampaging lizards are told on the streetcorners and taverns.

CEOMYR - Spring 66

After an unexpected early thaw. War returns to the mainland. Forces that were not ready for the continuation of the conflict suffer heavy losses in the initial battle. Though this could have tipped the balance in the conflict, it did not. The emperor's 'slumber' during the winter season and rare presence in front of the nobles allowed old family rivalries to take precidence rather than a focus on the war effort.

Lorlynia

Winter engulfs the Great Forest in in one tremendous storm that last nearly a week. Snow falls for almost a months straight, after which the temperature drops severly. The sound of splitting trees resounds through the otherwise quiet forest. Most creatures are holed up for the cold winter ahead.

Despite their great skill, many elven ships are caught unaware by the freakish storms and some are lost in the boundless ocean. Stories are told around warm fires of a daring rush to port or of a near fatal meeting with the rockey shore that makes up Lorlynia's coastline. Many mugs are raised in silent salute to lost commrades.

The Queen also takes to her bed with a sickness that can only be blamed on the severe cold. The Prince is never far from her side.

Rhaavin

Nothing of any real interest happens during Rhaavins winter. The patrols maintain their vigil and the winter is one of the colder ones for that particular region. Other than that, all remains quiet.
