Hey, ENWorld. It's been a while.
I realize I've been remiss in not letting you know about Winter Is Coming, a winter-themed RPG Blog Festival I've been curating with over 25 contributors over on my blog Wombat's Gaming Den of Iniquity. Yes, this is a shameless self-promotional post, but the authors will be the ones to benefit.
Winter Is Coming has been going on for the past week, and we're up to 37 wintry entries as of tonight. We've got a few more to go up tomorrow and some straggler articles coming in over the weekend. If you're looking for inspiration or a tidbit to throw into your game, I invite you to take a read and leave some comments.
We've got content for D&D, Pathfinder, Shadowrun, BESM, and Swords and Wizardry, as well as several system-independent pieces. We've got articles about settings, planes, classes, adventures, obstacles, monsters, artifacts, traps, races, terrain, and diseases. We've got a few illustrations that may be handy in your game.
I'm not actively looking for contributors since things are winding down, but I'm focusing on getting some feedback for all the authors who have spent their time to create all this really cool (pun intended) content. That said, if you're inspired to create something and contribute over this weekend, I say bring it on. Look for links to the participant signup page off the main Winter Is Coming page. I'm not likely to do much beyond Monday, so plan accordingly.
This has been a great experience for me, so I'm planning another themed Blog Festival in a few months. Would folks around here be interested in me posting about the next one?
