[QUOTE="Dark Psion, post: 374723, member: 959"] This is from GamingReport.com: As you may have noticed the WotC message boards have been having major problems as of late. They are back up now and WotC Melanie Creel has posted this statement: Boards Post Mortem "Here is a look back at what has been happening with the boards for those who are interested. We had planned to move from version 6.2 to version 6.3.1 for six weeks or so after discovering a security hole regarding passwords. We had hastily patched the hole with our own code, but it affected non-alphabet characters. We anticipated that 6.3 would make a proper security fix. 6.3 also had a number of small new features that were useful as well as many of you previewed in the small window of time we were up last week. On updating to 6.3.1 our boards took a noticeable performance hit, as it often does after an upgrade. With past upgrades, a few days would straighten these issues out. This time, however, as days progressed more and more fatal errors cropped up. Some forums were not able to accept new posts, some threw an error message, logging out caused users not to be able to log back in, and finally, performance was worsening. As each of these problems came up, we worked to correct them first with our in house tech staff and then with Infopop the makers of our boards. After much effort on both parties, were still having an unacceptable number of errors and deemed it necessary to go to our backup tape of the 6.2 version boards. Going to the backed-up boards code meant that we had to patch in the ~1000 new registrations created in that time. This is why you may notice some other odd byproduct behavior, which we will address as it arises. We extend our apologies to you for the interruption of service. We appreciate our community for all the great conversation and debate had on our boards and hope you continue to participate despite the trials to your patience these past ten days."
