Wizards seeking Delegates - Did you sign up?

Did anyone else sign up for the Delegate program for WotC? Why or why not?

A Delegate will receive 1 starter and 1 case of Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures and Star Wars Miniatures (and one case for each new release).

A Delegate will receive 1 copy of the latest version of Dungeons and Dragons Core Rule Books (Player’s Handbook, Monster Manual, and Dungeon Master’s Guide).

Why would they give away miniatures and RPG books then? Am I being fooled?

No.

Why or why not?

Because I have neither the time nor desire to "help expand and support the player base for (their) games and programs".

Well, considering, that I do not qualify... nope.

Though it does sound like a fairly good deal, if you are interested in most of the products and not just D&D.

Do you really want to be the proclaimed "expert" wearing a (high quality) WoTC shirt at the FLGS having deep & involved rules discussions with the permanent denizens of said store?

Hour upon hour of listening to exactly what is wrong with each and every rule in d20 from the great unwashed, (mom's) basement dwelling masses doesn't really appeal to me.

Guess that rules me out.

You have to visit 3 game stores a month.


That means I would be spending 6-12 hours on the road the second month. And promoting games I cannot stand.

I wouldn't mind doing it if I COULD visit three game stores a month...not having a car complicates that, and I use Books a Million and Barnes and Noble for most of my D&D buys these days...

3 locations a month, only one in the county. Sorry, my spare time is not that abundant. (I would love to gets more people into D&D locally but have zero interest negative interest in promoting TCGs or collectible minis.)
