Wizkids mini question

I recently purchased a loose 1E kobold from Wizkids. This is probably old news to everyone but me, but I hadn't realized the base and the mini would come separately. There's a small peg under each of the kobold's feet, and apparently matching holes in the clear base, but the pegs don't fit in.

So what's the best way to get my little guy -- who otherwise seems quite nice -- standing? Do I sand down the pegs? Core out the holes?

I assume this is an old issue, but a cursory Google search didn't find any advice on this.

Thanks.

Drill out the holes if you have small drill bits. If the holes wind up a bit too large, glue to the rescue. Or as mentioned, sand off the pegs and again, glue to the rescue.

If you plan on painting the base, rough it up with fine grit sandpaper before you glue on the mini.

My first move would be to heat up the miniature and see if you can't get it into the pegs - 90% of the time, that works. Second option would be to remove the pegs and glue the miniature directly onto the base using superglue.

I'm not sure why you would need to rough up the base before painting it. Those transparent bases take paint just fine.

Ditch the clear base and pick up a pack of aftermarket bases from GW. Then glue your figure to the base, primer the base, paint it in earth tones, and flock it with dry coffee (or commercial basing flocking, if you prefer).

If so, pretty sure it just came broken. When this happens to me, I just do what @MGibster said and cut the pegs and glue the feet to the base.
