I wasn't sure if I should buy it or not, because of the music removal that they did. So I rented it from Netflix to see. I only have disc 2 so far, and for the most part, the music removal doesn't bug me. But 2 episodes really are ruined (on disc 2). First, the one with Les going on a date with Jennifer. "Hot Blooded" was essential to that scene. Secondly, the one about the music contest. This was bad, because not only did they completely replace the music used in the contest, they completely did the voices for the callers identifying the music. But got different actors, I think. Ugh. I can see them not wanting to spend $50,000 on each of the 5 songs from the music contest (which despite the aim of the contest, were pretty recognizable). But I can't believe they took out "Hot Blooded". That's probably going to be the factor in me not buying the set. On the plus side, the video quality is better than I thought. It was shot on video tape, and some shows from that era have really faded a lot. On the down side, the laugh track is much more obnoxius than I remembered. It's a shame they didn't remove it (which is tricky, but was done for the DVD release of Sledge Hammer!)
