They now put out their catalog of releases for the rest of the year, no SW-RPG books planned for the forseeable future. Now planned for at least a year and a half of no releases. Also, Lucasfilm may ask less for rights & royalties for an RPG once Star Wars isn't producing movies all the time. LFL may still be making tv, novels, and licensing other tie-ins, but with the prequels over they probably won't be commanding as much for the royalties. LFL may be asking a lot, but they're also asking it during the big rush of Star Wars merchandising, while in a year or two things may have died down (and it's a lot easier to write RPG source material once all the movies have been made, since the Clone Wars and the time between the Prequel and Original Trilogy have been traditional verboten territory for EU authors). WotC could be taking a longer-term view of it, wait until the property cools off in the mass-market eyes, but they know that the Star Wars gaming community is less tied to the prequel hype and will buy the game even without Star Wars trailers in theaters, TV series on Cartoon Network, and the prequel hype. After all, WotC knows that d6 SW did remarkable sales during the mid-90's, predating much of the modern Star Wars Expanded Universe (Timothy Zahn was sent RPG sourcebooks when he was contracted to write Heir to the Empire and told to use that as source materials), and WotC knows (or could pretty easily figure out) that their books aren't selling that well because most of their dedicated fans have bought all the books out there already, and are just sitting around waiting patiently for more. It's all a waiting game.
