At the pier... The car pulled to a stop about twenty feet from the pair. The driver hopped out, rushed around to the rear passenger side door, and opened it for his employer, who stepped out gingerly into the cool night. The gentlemen was pale... deathly pale, with shoulder-length raven-black hair. His form was otherwise obscured by a thick, fur-trimmed overcoat which he wore snuggly secured up to his neck. He slowly approached the two, and pulled out an envelope. "There are eyes and ears everywhere. If someone hears about this... we're in trouble," he said to the pair in a whisper. "Do you have what I requested," he asked as he pointed at them with the envelope. "Yes, we do," the wiry man said, "but it was a little messy." He reached into his jacket and pulled out a locket. "This is what we pulled off as proof -- never took it off before this," he said with a bit of a smile. On the streets of New York His exit came in the form of a window with a fire-escape. He clammered down it quickly, and attacked a wino he found asleep in the alleyway, leaving behind a broken, bloodless corpse. Elias screamed his fury to the night sky as the blood coursed through his veins, and he began his hunt for It... that thing that he left his youngest... his treasured Childe... strewn about his haven in so many haphazard, lifeless pieces. He scented the night air, much like a hound, and headed off towards a familiar scent... her scent... where he would hopefully find some trace of It and what had done this to her. At the Maze *** Marcus *** "Yes, I suppose so," Elena sighed. "It is so different here... so many more Kindred. I wonder how he manages such a crowd? We have so many fewer Kindred in Albany... it's just hard to imagine the difficulties he must have in managing such a diverse group." *** Horus *** "Well... you flatter me so, Sir Curator," Hadrian says with a mild wave of his hand. "I'm sure plenty could do with a visit to your establishment -- they might learn something important." *** Paul *** "Oh, you don't know... nevermind then, Paul," Mathew mutters. He pulls close to you, and whispers something softly into your ear -- "Just don't stay to close to the door." Something is obviously amiss... It is forty-five minutes after the official time, and the Prince has yet to arrive, or send someone to offer reasons for his absence, and others have begun to notice. After being pulled aside and given a harsh scolding by her Sire, Melinda sulked into a corner, remaining fairly quiet as everyone mingled awaiting the Prince. Finally, after almost an hour, Gerald Dervish (the Seneschal) arrived, and asked for quiet. "The Prince will be arriving shortly," Gerald begins once everyone has quieted down. "He sent me ahead to apologize for his lack of punctuality, but there was an important matter that needed immediate attenton. Everyone, enjoy yourselves, and Prince Morgan will arrive in the next few minutes to join us."
