Wonders being forged

Backstory:
Older, wiser adventurers steal the Mattus Essendi (henceforth ME), a gigantic falchion from Solven the Grey, Shadowmage, foiling his plan to use the weapon to rip open the space between planes and allow the plane of Shadow to wash over the Prime. They secret it in the permanent dead magic area centered on the alehouse belonging to their bard.

Campiagn begins:
Gnomish wizard from said party hires the fledgling PC’s to steal the ME as a prank on his adventuring colleague. The PC’s oblige and as soon as the wagon carrying the ME clears the village they are beset by shadow goblins who take the ME from them. They are summoned to appear before the older party, they and the gnome wizard are scolded. The older adventurers leave for the plane of shadow to right things.

Campaign advances:
The older adventurers direct the PC’s to Solven’s prime hideaway to steal something they need back on Shadow, the PC’s do so, but before they can make the rendez-vous Solven manages to use the ME to rip open the fabric and Shadow washes over the prime. They hideout in the very same alehouse and manage to deliver their cargo to the more experienced party. These close the gap and manage to sunder the ME. The Shadow dissolves but Solven manages to trick the PC’s into helping him acquire the knowledge he needs to reforge the ME. PC’s are berated again.

Still further on:
The older party splits up to discover where Solven has gone, one half of the party disappears, the other half recruits the PC’s to continue their search. (Never split up !)

The near future:
The PC’s will discover that the ME is being reforged in the Tower of Lead on the Qausi-Elemental Plane of Mineral. This is a tower in name only, it’s really more like a small city where life center’s around forging great and powerful arms, armor and various other artifact level magic. It’s currently run by agents of the Dao and the day to day operations are looked after by a very extended family of svirnefblin. What I’d like help and advice with is what other things are being forged there.

My ideas thus far:
1) An anchor meant to hold the ship of an adventuring band steady while they assault the storm tossed tower of their enemy.
2) A powerful crown destined to be the dowry of a princess.

The Threaded Bridge, a construct of fine adamantium threads (or mythril), designed to span the space between heaven and hell.

The Well of Sorrow, where each tear that is shed within a hundred miles is collected. The more people suffer, the more water they have.

The Horn of the Mountains, a musical instrument that can only be carried by two giants and only played by a master bard. It can raise or flatten mountains when played.

The Hungry Harp, a cursed musical instrument with razorsharp strings. If you start to play, you must finish the song, and each time you cut yourself, one of your loved ones dies.

The Liquid Elephant, a construct composed of lead. It can assume the shape of any mount or vehicle (for example a boat) and is large enough to transport a score of people (usually it takes the shape of a giant elephant). It is still lead, though, so it melts in great heat.

Brass Dragon Eggs with a mercury core, indistinguishable even in feel from real Brass Dragon eggs, for some nefarious plot as of yet unknown.

The Invulnerable Coat of Arnd - Mail shirt (Hauberk) which is immune to all forms of attack, but which covers only the head, neck, chest, and crotch. The lower arms (below the elbow) and legs are still open to attack.

The AC bonus is approximately +8, but with the weight and other characteristics of a Mithral Shirt, and the Hardness & HP of +6 Adamantine (for a total of +14 to AC). While better than platemail, it is still light armor.

(Based on the 1e Artifact/Relic.)

The Soul-Armour of Solek:

An invulnerable, Cursed suit of +6 Platemail, which, once forged in the heart of a burning diamond of impossible size, and enchanted by fiends, is impervious to all known forces in all known planes of the Universe. Only two suits are known to exist, given to two of Solek's henchmen.

The curse, however, is that the armour traps the soul of its wearer within it (as a Trap the Soul spell of Epic level), ripping it out of the body and turning the wearer into an undead trapped within the suit. The armour may not be removed until the undead is slain. The suit is otherwise as +6 Adamantine platemail. The type of undead is selected by the GM, in accordance with the power level of the wearer, and will advance over time.

Since the suit, itself, is vulnerable to no known forms of attack, the wearer is treated as +14 to AC with the bonus for Hard Cover. The only ways to hurt the wearer are to attack the joints (breaking the wrist, for example), through the eye-slits or other small gaps, etc. Note that this applies to magic (Magic Missiles, Fireballs, Lightning Bolts, etc.)

The original two henchmen trapped in Soldek's Soul-Armour were freed upon their undead bodies being slain, so the two suits (the other of which is located on another plain) are open for new inhabitants... You can have an invulnerable suit of armour... All it will cost you is your soul... and your life! :]

(This one is based upon one of the original Thieves' World stories, although the names have been changed to protect the guilty!)

Some great stuff

Thanks all !
I especially like the codex of laws, the harp, the eggs and the elephant. Keep 'em coming !

If you're up to it, some detail on who's doing the forging and/or commisioned it wouldn't go astray.

Rav, the really scary thing about you're gnome is that he's standing behind the Lady of Pain !
