Message: <blockquote data-quote="StreamOfTheSky" data-source="post: 4605539" data-attributes="member: 35909">In general, you want stuff that lets you full attack: Boots of Sidestepping, Lion Totem Barbarian 1 for pounce (C.Champion), etc...; and stuff that gives a bonus to all your damages: ranger favored enemy bonus, SA, etc...  The latter point being to look for things that are more advantageous to you than a 2H weapon fighter.  A greatsword fighter doesn't get much out of +1d6 SA because he likely is only attacking once/round anyway.  You get it to all your attacks, so it can quickly add up.  The Ranger spell list in Spell Compendium has some very nice spells to help with this.  Blades of Fire is a level 1 swift action spell that adds 1d8 fire damage to ALL your attacks (with up to two weapons) for a round, for example.  If you're getting four attacks a round, that's pretty good.One thing I recommend if your DM is good about giving you encounters with your favored enemies is to take ImprovedFavored Enemy (+3 damage against favored enemies) and ask the DM for a 3.5 version of Extra Favored Enemy.  Something simple, like "Add a new favored enemy at a +2 bonus."  Take that once or twice, and if you can cover the majority of enemies you encounter with your selection, you'll have +5 or more damage against most foes.  As for which to pick, it depends on what the DM uses, only do this if he seems to mostly use the same 4 or 5 types of monsters.  Magical Beast is generally a huge selection pool, it's always my favorite to pick in general.</blockquote>
