Woodland dwarf?

I'm running a campaign based more on germanic folklore.

Kobolds. goblins.
dwaves. But these dwarves will be more reclusive forest dwellers than mountain miners. Think snow white.

I can't find a variant like this. Does one exist?
If there's no hit to charisma even better.

Hrm. The dwarfs in the animated version of Snow White were mountain miners by profession; they only lived in the forest.

Maybe Hill Dwarves are what you want? Some hills are wooded. . . .

Make them loggers instead of miners and carpenters/woodworkers instead of smiths. Give them some type of gift for growing things and a deep knowledge of the soil and woodland creatures. Let them ride deer or mountain goats and hunt with spears and short-bows...

Those Disney Dwarves look a lot more like gnomes, don't they? About 3' tall, not the 4' to 4'6 of the typical Dwarf, much friendlier and more outgoing.

You might want to check out the Uldra, forest and tundra dwelling cousins of the Dwarves and Gnomes from Dragon Magazine #119. It might be what you're looking for. Of course it was written for first edition.
