Several of them close on the party and the townsfolk, while some continue into the village proper. Several orcs close on Nyra, Hargrim, Brin, Niko and the townsfolk. A couple of them are quickly cut down before they are able to attack. They then procede to attack the defenders. Nyra, Hargrim, Brin and Niko are all somewhat experienced with combat, so they are able to hold their own - for a while at least. The poor townsfolk are not so lucky though. A few fall to the ground rather quickly, blood bursting from busted veins and opened throats. The remaining men and women roars in defiance and stand ground, eager to defend their homes and loved ones.Nyra drops her bow, draws her scimitar and slashes at the closest orc in one, fluid motion. The orcs throat is slashed open, and it falls to the ground, twitching."Come on, you ugly, vicious bastards," hargrim spits. He howls again, in orcish, "Come on!" as he swings his axe, beheading yet another of the smelly beasts. Blood and gore spreading quickly on the ground, the dwarfs abilities in combat seems to lift the spirit of the townsfolk as well.Seeing Hargrim downing one orc after the other, Brin, Niko and the townsfolk attacks viciously, downing yet more of the filty orcs, adding to the slaughter-in-progress.[sblock]Assuming Balin and Zyrial is staying close to, if not in, the doorway to the Inn. The rest are in the street, facing lots and lots of orcs. 9 Attacks of Oportunity was made, 1 from Hargrim, 1 from Brin, 1 from Niko and 6 from the townsfolk. Hargrim, Brin and Niko all killed one orc with the AoOs. The townspeople killed 1 with their AoOs. Nyra did not get an AoO, since she was armed with her bow. Hargrim also had a readied action, and killed 1 orc with that as well. Active Effects:Bless: +1 morale on attack rolls and saves against fear. Active on all party members, Brin, two of his five deputies, and about 15 villagers.Protection from Arrows: Gives Zyrial damage reduction 10/magic against ranged attacks.
