I’ve made my on CG outsider’s to solve the same problem. They’re called “Reijali”, and i leaned into chaos for their forms. Each has a different appearance to the other, and have a chance to transform into one another each day. There’s a total of 7 so far, but I may add more in the future. Here’s the ones I got:
Nove are the weakest and most basic, imagine a pixie, but its shouts in the ears of and demoralizes bad guys and inspire heroes. Imagine round-toothy-headed pink guys the size of a hand. Bellator deal with the unpassed dead. Helping vengeful spirits get vengeance on those who have wronged them, or use spirits to haunt or scare wrong-doer’s. They appear similar to spirits, but are identifiable by their cluster of eyes. Adarn are relentless pursuers. They set their sights on villains and hunt them down, inflicting suffering on the target as much as they have made other’s suffer (oftentimes more). Their bright skin makes them near-impossible to miss as they hunt you. They appear to be extremely colorful/patterned humanoids. Furci are 5-armed, dagger-wielding assassins, they scour planes looking for evil-doer’s who believe themselves secure and safe from consequence. Ira are titanic fighters often covered in a radiant and storm-like aura. They are the most straight-forward, attacking any evil they see head on. Cataegis are as if wild-magic came alive. They look like massive humanoids made of swarming tendrils. They search for sources of magic (people, objects, locations) bound or corrupted by evil. The Rex are considered the pinacle of the reijali. Their mere presence is overwhelming for most minds, and their power is awesome. They have no definitive or traditional way of pursuing good or the erradicaion of evil, but work towards it all the same. As chaotic entities, the reijali don’t have set rules or a hierarchy, instead each of them band with and/or follow who they believe will be the best match. They do not hold grudges against one another if they have differences of opinion or part ways (even if done so violently). The only reijali that have any form of authority over them are their celestial paragons (but not by much).
For each of these guys, i wanted them to feel like a trope you could associate with CG. I have since forgotten those tropes, but i still enjoy these guys
