Even if it wasn't though, it doesn't take much effort to look up how to spell Das Nibelungenlied (The Songs of the Nibelungs) if that's what you are trying to spell. That said, the point is that Tolkien was familiar with the Poetic and Prose Edda, which is where the names of various characters in The Hobbit comes from.I'm not touching this landmine even with a 100 ft. pole.</blockquote>
