Magic doesn’t have “editions” in the same way RPGs like D&D do. They used to call the annual core set “Xth edition,” but they haven’t done so for over a decade because of this sort of confusion (and more recently they stopped even making core sets). While the “standard” tournament format does have set rotation, where cards periodically age out of legality, there are several non-rotating formats. The closest thing Magic has to an edition change in the RPG sense are the two major sets of revisions to the core rules - one that occurred in 1999 and a smaller one that occurred in 2010.</p></blockquote><p></p>
