Not only are elves long-lived, but the Undying Court is, well, undying. They've guided Aereni society for thousands of years -- not just the Court as a whole but probably many of the individual members of the Court as well.I'm sure the Valenar leaving for Khorvaire helped alleviate population pressures, and I presume there must be cultural mores or biological facets that encourage a lower birth rate; not everyone subscribes to the Biblical imperative to "be fruitful and multiply".</blockquote>
