Worst named feat in 3.5

Urbannen

First Post
I browsed 3.5 at Barnes & Noble last night and was surprised to see the the feat "Self-Sufficient" gives a +2 bonus to Heal checks, along with +2 to Survival.

AFAIK you cannot use Heal on yourself, meaning that this bonus does not, in fact, make you more self-sufficient.

You can't perform long-term care on yourself; and obviously you can't do "first aid" on yourself if you're unconscious and dying. But the other applications of the skill don't say anything about any limitation.

The skill is not clear to me. You've got "Treat Wound that Reduces Base Speed" saying simply "A successful Heal check removes this movement penalty." Okay, you can use it on yourself. The way Treat Poison and Treat Disease are worded seems to imply that there are two characters involved in the check. "The diseased character uses the [tending] character's result in place of his or her saving throw if the character's Heal result is higher." I guess it could be the same person, but it's not so clear. It does says specifically that you can't use long-term care on yourself, but doesn't say either way for the other uses.

So the idea is that the Self-Sufficient feat is supposed to allow you to treat yourself more effectively from disease, poison, and wounds that reduce base speed (except those from spike stones or spike growth)?
