Do you want to be playing armsmen who just earned their swords, newly raised Aes Sedai, or characters who can hold their own against the Forsaken?

Note: I haven't issued a formal call for players yet. I am going to give people who were going to be in Silverhawk's game priority, but there will be at least one open slot (because I'm the DM), and probably a few more.

I've always liked to use those low levels to flesh out the character and really get a feel for were i'm going with it. It seems like you miss something when you start at high levels.

I've never played anything through a msg board or chat, but would love a chance to play WoT. If you have room in your game and can throw the nessasary info my way this is defenaitely something i'd be interested in.

In our group only the DM knew Wheel of Time (A second one is currently reading the books).
If you start with a new campaign and a new rule set (even if its only D&D), you should start at 1st level - you have time to grow accustomed to everything, get a better feeling for the setting and your character...

I'll add this to the opening message, too.

Newly Raised

Its great and wonderful to start out as level 1 sometimes, especially when you are unfamiliar with the world, but considering how long it take on average to become an Aes Sedai, I'd have to say that *I* would prefer a mid-level game. I think it is hard to find the necessary freedom from the Tower and one's mentor otherwise.

But that's my opinion. And one can still write a background, which I would do. In the past, when I have DMed groups starting above 1st level, I have required a brief background for the character.

Just bumping this to say that I'm going to let the polls run for about a week (that is, until the 14th) before issuing a formal call for players.

I've always perfered level one. THis allows PCs to understand and build their character. I've found it better to advance them fast instead of starting at 6th level for instance. You can advance them one level a week until they hit level 6. THen play at the pace you want. THe PCs get to experiment a little with the new levels and get to build their personalities.
