[WoT] Towers of Midnight due out 2 NOV

The 13th Wheel of Time book, Towers of Midnight, is due out 2 Nov: Towers of Midnight news

Based on the prior book, The Gathering Storm, if this is similar (and the review at the link above indicates it is) it sounds like Brandon Sanderson is doing a great job of keeping the pace up in bringing the series to a close and closing out the open mysteries. The last book, A Memory of Light, is supposedly due Fall 2011. TGS actually made me glad I picked up the series again -- I'd stopped at Book 8, then picked up the audio books when my wife got into the series. Books 9-10 were pretty useless, but boy did 12 make up for that.

What I find frustrating and ironic, though, is that Robert Jordan is dead and yet he's still finishing his series faster than GRRM.

You, Sir, owe me a new keyboard!!!!:D

I agree that Sanderson did a great job on book 12 and look forward to the next.

Maybe someone should ask him about picking up for GRRM as well.....

FWIW, I believe if Jordan had been healthy (and so able to keep up the every other year pace he was on from book 6-9), he would have finished the series before GRRM finished aSoIaF, too. Even if you figure that Jordan being Jordan would need another book beyond the three Sanderson is taking to finish the series, that gives us book 10 in 2002 (instead of the real 2003), 11 in 2004 (instead of 2005), 12 in 2006 (rather than Sanderson finishing it in 2009), 13 in 2008 (instead of 2010), 14 in 2010 (instead of 2011), and probably wrapping up the mainline series with book 15 in 2012.
