WotC 4e art galleries?

Has Wotc dropped the practice of putting the art from their books up in galleries on their website? The last art gallery I can find is the Wizards Presents 4e preview books that went up in February.

I really like the art galleries. I link to the individual images a bunch in my email games when I want a character/scene/character image.

I like a lot of the 4e art, I'd like to see them up on the website.

Anybody know if they plan to resume putting them up?

Me too.

Unless we can get someone to comment officially (I couldn't, when I posted this question a month or two ago) then I'd say no, nobody knows if or when they plan to resume that. :(

I'm also a big fan of the art galleries. I've been buying the PDFs of 4th edition releases as they've come out, so it occurs to me now that I do still have those images available in electronic form. But it would be better to have the images individually available rather than embedded in a PDF.

Come to think of it, if WotC isn't going to make the artwork available for free download, perhaps a zipped archive of the images from each book could be bundled with the PDF releases. That's not going to add much to the production cost of the PDF, and I can see it being a drawcard for potential PDF purchasers.

There were many products for 3e that I had no interest in that I decided to buy after perusing the art galleries. I think they're missing out on an opportunity here.

We're probably asking in the wrong place. Unless we can manage to get Rouse's attention or something.

Although I think I asked this on the WotC or Gleemax forums a few months ago and didn't get a response there either.

Maybe I should actually call a customer support number, assuming I can find one. In fact, I'll do it. If anyone can find me a good custsupport number for WotC I'll call and ask.

Not that the phone jockeys there will necessarily know anything, but you never know. I used to really like talking to the GWUS customer support mail trolls.

Galleries a'comin

Hi folks,

I will give an official reponse to this. Art and map galleries will indeed return to the D&D website -- starting Friday, in fact, with P1 King of the Trollhaunt Warrens. The following week, we'll also release the October Dragon/Dungeon galleries as well (although I'm not certain if those images/maps will be offered to subscribers only).

Thanks, Bart. Can you let us know if the core books will be galleried soon? And can we assume that non-DDI images will at the least be available to non-subscribers?
