Just because a parent IS legally responsible (according to US law), doesn't mean they need to be a lawyer (though with the implications from my links above, its not such a stretch in the USA).Is it reasonable to expect a parent to be conversant in the law? Depends upon if the laws are reasonable. But I don't care to debate if US laws are reasonable. Not the point of this thread or of interest to me.</blockquote>
