The fact that they are getting paid does not make any difference; if you don't like them talk with the uber-WizOs. It has been my experience, that WotC has been rather heavy handed with WizOs. Paradox must be doing something right to have been kept on.The wizards board and the wizards chat rooms are two very different places. I find the boards here on ENworld to be better than those on WotC, due mostly to the people who post here. WotC's boards amount to a big pile of steamy nastiness, a cesspool of flaming and foul-mouthedness (is that a word?).I do find the wizards chat room to be a cut above ENworld's in moderation and variety. The Wizos in the chat rooms are often very friendly and have changed only slightly in the two years I've been over there. It could be that they have an entire site with many different rooms, or it could be the people or events that occur; regardless, it is very clean and a fun place to be.Yes, the moderators are partly to blame I suppose, but the fact that they are a company and not a fan site/news site like ENworld changes the ideological expectations for a forum. Here there is a very plain code of conduct; its straight forward and has always been under the discretion of the mods. Wizards has to appeal to a larger clientele base. Being a company, their boards also exicute a marketing function, which may influence the line which the WizOs have drawn in the forum sand (something that should not be looked down upon, seeing as they are a business).In short, the moderators on the wizards boards do not have the freedom the mods on ENworld do.
