WotC forum issues?

I suddenly can't seem to sign in to the WotC forums. It tells me I'm entering an invalid username and/or password, but I know that I'm not. :\

Anyone else having such a problem?
I had this problem once; I think there's a way to get your password reset. At any rate it's not happening anymore.

I can login, but it logs me out at random times.
Go to the Gleemax forum itself, log yourself out, then log back in while on that page. That one still has the "Remember me?" box. In my own case it seemed to take a couple days for this to kick in, but eventually it did start working.

Anyone else having the boards randomly blow up their message borders? Getting some funky quote bars in sigs and a one, two or three+ border running down the edge of the posts?
What you're saying isn't entirely clear (it would help if you'd, you know, not randomly drop words from your sentences), but what I think is happening to you is a known issue that can be solved by going to your preferences and removing the limit to the size of signatures you can display. If your maximum line number is in the middle of an SBLOCK or something, it makes Bad Things happen. Most people with long sigs now use SBLOCKS for them anyway (and if they don't, tell them they should) so there is little need to set a limit.

@Everyone: All the information I've posted could have been found by spending 15 minutes at the Boards Business forum on WotC's site. I'm not a moderator there or anything, just someone who keeps myself informed. It's not difficult to do, and much more productive than coming to a completely different board to whine about it.

Beyond the forum issues, for some reason the moderators have been EXTREMELY intolerant as of late. Even the slightest provocation can result in a warning or even a banning. And apparently there must have been some change because now they don't have to give any justification or explanation for a warning -- they don't actually have to tell the person receiving the warning that they have, in fact, been warned.

So heightened rule enforcement (and selective rule enforcement) appears to be a part of this Gleemax thing.

As I said on that forum, WoTC jumped the shark with this gleemax nonsense.
I have seen no evidence of this, and even if it's true, see no reason to think it's connected to Gleemax in any way.

Take a look in the buisness section. There's threads about posts being deleted; there's evidence that the moderators are censoring people.

The top mods can't even define words that are being used to give warnings to people.

That several people whine about something at the same time doesn't show that it's actually happening any more than at any other time.

And you didn't even address the point about your wild leap of logic in connecting this to Gleemax, which I will take as an admission that (not surprisingly) you can't.

Please don't bring issues from other boards here. Naming names of people that annoy you elsewhere really can't help further this thread.

Thanks,
Dinkeldog/Moderator

Moderator's Notes:

Woah! Stop right there.

Jeff, we're glad to have you help people find their way around the forum. You may not, however, refer to other members here as "whin[ing]." That explicitly breaks our forum rules: it is not courteous, respectful, or civil. You may THINK it all you want, but you must remain courteous, civil, and respectful when posting on these boards.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions; please do not respond to this post in this thread.

The same advice, in general, goes for everyone on the boards and in this thread, of course.

Daniel

Edit: Or what Dinkeldog said!

IMHO, that's always been a failing of the mods on the WotC forums.

I am a mod myself on a large PC game forum, so I'm familiar with moderation issues. One thing I try to NEVER do is lock a thread or hand out a punishment without giving a sufficient explanation of "why". You can't expect people to learn from their mistakes if they don't know what they did wrong in the first place.

At WotC I have repeatedly seen threads closed and even deleted with zero explanation.

...sorry, not to bash them, of course, just pointing out an issue...

[edit]Just read above, sorry if my post is poor form...[/edit]
