I ended up going to the Hollywood one hosted by Wizards of the Coast. It was also the announcement party for the DnD fan film festival awards (the Dungeon Majesty dude was there, and won the prize for his rocking dnd music video ;) Hal Sparks (who games, apparently ) was hosting with another guy who was very familiar, but I don't know his name (he is in that Staples commercial with the 'I'll leave this ink cartridge for the ink fairy...) - Brian something? Anyway, it was at the Level 3 club (nice choice, I think) and was pretty cool. Nobody told me I was supposed to bring a 500 point warband to do the dragon smackdown thing they had, so I just did a minis demo and scored a free boster. I played the Paladin in the adventure, and was killed by the Magma Hurler (went to -18 HP in one shot from like half health as soon as I opened the door because the rogue had tipped them off and they readied) - one of the most brutal PC deaths ever ;) The party went on to TPK in style with the hellcat. ..oh - and I did think it was silly to have a Paladin with no Charisma bonus. I couldn't even lay on hands. It was pretty darn fun overall though.
