WOTC Numbering Convention

KB9JMQ

First Post
I keep a data base off all my books, modules, etc. which relate to gaming.

Today I received an order of stuff including the WOTC module
Deep Horizon which is numbered WTC11855.

Ninety-nine percent of D&D products have some code to go by and all the WOTC 3E modules have had this WTC#### convention.

Until Lord of the Iron Fortress - it is numbered 882630000

So what gives? Why did this break the norm and how do they come up with these numbers anyway?

Edit: Typoed my own name

It looks like they have finally been required to switch over to the official Hasbro UPC/SAP numbering system. Happens to everybody eventually.

88263 would be the main portion of the code, 0000 would be a marketing suffix that generally denotes a market area, special edition, etc. If you saw the same module in France it might be numbered 88263-0001-- just as an example.
