There is evidence that Larian -needed wotc-a year before Bg3 wasn’t strong financially -needed outside investors along with crowd funding to get off the ground This wasn’t a slam dunk that this was a sure thing at the time. I jumped on Bg3 on day 1 and I’ve argued that Larian did a lot to make this a beyond immersive game compared to competition Nobody was saying prior to Bg3 that Bg3 will be maybe the greatest rpg of all time.
