Would Dimensional Anchor protect against Banishment?

It seems like it should, but it just seems sorta weird as Dimensional Anchor isn't meant to be a protective spell.

What do you all think?

Yes, it would help.

Dimensional Anchor is mentioned as a protection against Baleful Teleport (an offensive psionic power that teleports small parts of the victims body away), so it has precedent as a defence.

Geoff.

yep - it sure could.

Banishment is a "form" of "inter-planar transit" - the fact the subject of the banishment spell is unwilling doesn't matter to the Dimensional Anchor.

Getting rid of that pesky demon that you thought you had trapped in the dimensional anchor/magic circle device can be a wee bit problematic if the magic circle fails and the dimensional anchor didn't.

Let me tell you about the time someone turned a door invisible to see what was inside a room....

Wouldn't that also allow the people inside to see out?

Yes.
No.
Maybe.

Regardless, it didn't stop a 1,500+ post flamewar from erupting. :)

Here's a question for you. Would you be able to see through an illusion of an invisible door? What if you disbelieve it? _Could_ you disbelieve it, if you couldn't see it?

1,500 post flame war. THose are always fun. I think you can see through an invisible door. You see through an invisible person, so I don't think there would be a difference or else it really defeats the purpose of the spell. As for disbelief see pg 158 of the PHB. You would have to have reason to disbelief it, like say running into it.

Edit: Don't know about your world, but in mine all my doors a CN.
