>I think the Arcane Archer has better synergy with the Deepwood Sniper >than the OoBI does. Enhancement bonuses to the arrows stack with the >bow, and work at all ranges, but the Sneak Attack and Improved >Specialization only work within 30 ft. A sniper's forte is firing from far >away. Your points are correct, but at 20th lv having magic arrows or a mage/cohort who casts Greater Magic weapon for you is not a problem. So effectively half of the abilities of an AA are rendered irrelevant. It also requires a number of levels of mage in order to get any use of the Imbue arrow ability, which reduces your fighting ability. Also my experience has frequently been that what ever the plus is on the AA's arrows due to level, it is frequently too low to damage the creatures you are facing. (though that might not be a problem for a 7th lv AA as they are at +4 IIRC). While snipers are yes, most effective at range (especially with the range mod), nearly all of the time in a typical campaign you will not be operating at extended distances. Typical ranges in a dungeon enviroment rarely exceed 50'-100'. The ability to fire a bow in close combat and other OBI abilities is thus of far more use in a typical adventure. I think there may be a mistake in the range calculation though. I believe that the multiplications of the ranges and such are all done separately (110 base +110 Distance +55 Far Shot + 70 DWS = Total 345). Still impressive none the less. Three suggestions. One, on your magic Bow make sure you have one of the Burst enchantments. It will kick in more often given your abilities and it benefits from the enhanced Crit multiplier (I believe it should be +4d10 for a x5 crit). Also make sure it is a Mighty +4 bow since your strength can be enhanced in various ways to reach 18. Second, Mounted Archery and an exotic steed as a cohort. One of the quirks in the rules is that since your steed is doing the moving, you can move and still get in a full attack. A Griffon with a saddle of expeditious retreat moves 160' a turn. Wonderful for hit and run attacks. A word of warning, unless the Griffon is advanced in level or HD, it would be quite fragile. Third (and mind you this is my personal preference) you might want to consider bumping strength up to 16 rather than wisdom. With your bonuses to hit and the stacking of the pluses on the bow and arrows, hitting is not generally going to be a problem. So I would look seriously at any possible way to increase your damage especially considering the very high crit mulitplier you have (every extra +1 pt of damage, translates into +5 on a crit). Of course if you will be regularly enhancing your strength to 18 with Magic of some sort, then stick with the wisdom bump. Last don't forget Bracers of Archery. Cheap and effective. If my experiences are any thing to go by your character should be extremely effective. I had a similar fighter/OBI character and he consistantly dealt the most damage of anyone in the party. Unfortunately my DM wouldn't let me use DWS, with it you should be a major ass kicker. Better luck to you.
