I wouldn't want to get the offer but if I got it I'd... Jump right in. Face it, you will never get an offer quite like it. I doubt gaming knowledge would make a difference, though. The first thing you need to do is learn the language and that takes a year or two and still you will always have the strangest accent. Then if you wanted to act on special knowledge you need to get people to listen and believe you. I mean people warn us every day of oncoming doom but those who listen are regarded as suspicious conspiracy theorists. The worst fear is of course the fear of combat. I'm not a great warrior and I lack the proper instincts to harm another on purpose. Sure I can punch a guy but it takes a lot of provocation and even then I settle for the minimum force necessary (no Cleave for me.) I've got the insticts of an office rat and as such I'm not cut out to fight. That leaves scholar as a possible occupation. Being a scholar must utterly suck in a medieval world. No heating, no light after dusk, no spectacles, quills and ink instead of pencils and so on. No, the fantasy world is not a very convenient place. There you can't produce things in the fast, efficient way you are accustomed today. With this post I reach several thousand people (in theory). The same feat would take years in a medieval world. But I'd still do it. Perhaps (I'd chance it) I can return someday and become a crazy writer with a uncanny knack for realism, I don't know.
