I wouldn't have to think very long at all about it. I'd be out the door and into the fantasy world FAST. Would I miss the family, friends, and significant other I was leaving behind? Yes. Would I miss them enough to skip a once in a lifetime opportunity? No. For everyone thinking of the dangers of adventuring... I would eventually be a Wizard 10/ Loremaster 10. I provide information. I don't leave my tower unless I know exactly what I'm getting into... Divination might not be the most exciting school around, but combine it with a high intelligence and a good amount of survival interest and you'd be nearly impossible to harm. (Contingency: Teleport as soon as I take over half damage?) I love information. As an electrical engineer/part time webmaster/sometimes chemist, its one of the foundations of my job. What better life than one where I can commune with the deities themselves to find out what I need to know? Or spy on conversations several rooms away? (As an aside, I could make gunpowder from scratch... as I'm sure most people who dabble in chemistry could. It really isn't all that hard to make black powder.) Not to mention that prestidigitation, levitation, FLY, unseen servant, teleportation, telekinesis... these spells make life even easier than it is here in this world. And BG and I agree on one thing: I'd *NEVER* get involved if there were Illithid around. Shudder. Seriously, who says that YOU have to be the one that saves the world every time? It's a world filled with adventurers, right? Well, SOMEBODY has to play the old sage that sets them on the path to victory, right?? :) By the way: Wizard (Diviner) 10/ Loremaster 10. Epic levels (if any): Loremaster. All of the item creation feats. A psuedo-dragon familiar if I could manage it. If I actually make it to epic levels, Extend Lifespan and Efficient Item Creation. ------------------------ Final aside: Interesting topic. Fascinating replies to it. And yes, I realize it's just a game. :D
