[QUOTE="Tsyr, post: 312805, member: 354"] What if comming home is the part of camping I like the least? And I backpack camp, mind you... none of this "Load an SUV with everything but the kitchen sink and call it camping" stuff. Yes, that means using one pan to cook numerous things over a fire for a week, using river water as cooking water, sleeping in a tent just big enough to fit in (why carry extra material just so you can stand up in the tent?), cutting down my own firewood, etc. I can even start a fire with flint and steel, for that matter, although I prefer matches I will admit :D . For that matter, I hunt (Deer, duck, and when the opertunity presents itself, rabbit and bear... and some of that is with a bow, mind you... and a recurve at that. Granted, not the duck... not that good of a shot...), fish... slaughter my own animals, thank you very much, and I've even made stuff from the deer hide. I grow my own food (Well... some of it. I don't have enough land to grow ALL of it, my entire garden is only about a half-acre), I can generaly tell "Edible" for "poison" in plants, and know what parts of a plant constitute "seed" for later planting. Not ALL of us are incapable of surviving on our own :) Making eagle scout goes a long way, but that doesn't teach you a lot of that stuff. And, as far as having a usefull trade... I can sew, do simple leather work, I'm a passable carpenter for non-detail work, and am an aprentice smith... yes, blacksmiths do still exist, even in the US of A. There are a number of other things I could theoreticly maybe do... in theory, I know how to bind a book, make paper, etc. Never done any of those, except tried to make paper a few times in the comfort of my own home, but I do theoreticly know how.
