Wounded Gaia v2

This seems like a great setting, and I'm sure you've put a lot of thought and work into it. It seems to be an interesting combination of steam-punk and "Day-after-Tomorrow"-style sudden ice-age.
Thank you for your kind words :)

I hope the firearms work out ok - sometimes they can be overpowered, but I'm sure you can keep them balanced. clockwork-powered crossbows sound cool. Any silenced versions for rogues/thieves?
I intend to make most firearms only a bit better than crossbows; firearms are rare anyway, and percussion revolvers are even rarer (as rare as minor magic items).

Most people in the Frozen Age, at least in the Zagadur Isles, have fallen into a very backwards technology level roughly equivalent to the 10th century Northmen. Most firearms and Elemental Machines are relics of the Age of Blossom; only the rich and the powerful hoard them. So the King of Olavsburg has running hot water in his palace thanks to a relic Boiler of Endless Steam and some clever Frozen Age plumbing, but most people lack such luxuries.

The knowledge to create Boilers of Endless Steam and similar magitech marvels is mostly lost, and only a few Elementalists are skilled enough to learn the Elemental Binding spells necessary to create such devices. A few do; and they live in towers of clockwork oddities.

Of course, if a PC Elementalist could re-discover the Elemental Binding spells, he or she could become VERY powerful, though at a great risk...
