Wow, Yahoo! mentions D&D on their news page.

And if the publishers are wondering which customers to listen to, they might want to pay special attention to boys aged 13-17. This group accounts for nearly 18% of the overall lookups on Yahoo!.

Which makes me think that 82% of us are either 12 and younger (unlikely a large yahoo searching group for D&D) or 18 and older. (Or, I guess, females aged 13-17, which I don't expect to be a large group).

I have four of the women aged 13-17 in my Pathfinder teens game.... Better than half the players in the game. :) (And let me tell you, Molly is a combat monkey. :p )

Most of the women I've played D&D with have been fantastic. I was just remembering the history of WotC trying to bring in more women (because the game was being disproportionately played by males).

But it makes me think:

And who said D&D was going to die??

It's good news, no matter which way you look at it. There is a new generation of kids interested in learning D&D. Fantastic! I know my son will help swell the ranks!

What's that old song by LL Cool J - "Don't call it a comeback - I been here for years."

but, it's good that it's getting a mention on yahoo - it means that it's at least popular enough to make it that far. Send the link on to your friends to increase it's popularity as well.

And the stupid, the second paragraph calls it a "Board game". Really? The Board game version has more name recognition than the name itself?

I noticed that too. I figured he was referring to D&D as a board game, which makes sense from a casual player point of view. It's a good enough description to give when talking about it with non gamers.
