[X-Men] Casting Call - Let's pull a Starbuck

A couple of comments in this thread about having key X-men characters being opposite genders than they are in the comics got me thinking. So just for fun and something different, consider this idea along the same line as Battlestar Galactica's new series and cast.

If you were given carte blanche on financial resources to produce a new X-Men movie in the vein of Ultimate X-Men only all team members' genders are reversed, who would you cast for which characters? Everything about the characters' origins remain true, only the gender has been reversed. Who would you get to direct it and script it?

Screenplay Writer: Peter David
Director: Sam Raimi

X-Men-
Professor Xavier: Joan Allen
Angel: Jennifer Garner (limited role)
Beast: Sigourney Weaver (cameo - no blue fur - scientist only)
Colossus: Joanie "Chyna" Laurer (cameo or limited lines)
Cyclops: Julianne Moore
Gambit: Nicole Kidman
Gene Gray: Tom Cruise
Nightcrawler: Alfre Woodard
Rogue (the invulnerable version that can fly): Jude Law
Storm: Jamie Foxx
Wolverine: Carrie-Anne Moss

Brotherhood of Evil Mutants-
Blob: Kathy Bates
Juggernaut: Hilary Swank (can use visual effects ala Lord of the Rings to make her appear larger)
Magneto: Kate Blanchett
Mystique: Johnny Depp
Pyro: Angelina Jolie
Sabertooth: Michelle Yeoh
Toad: Jessica Biel

Your choices?

Y'know, Professor Charlize Xavier and Erica "Magneta" Lensherr are supposed to be the same age. If you cast Joan Allen as Prof X, Cate Blanchett is a tad too young yo be Magneta.

But the lovely Kristin Scott Thomas could serve just right!

blob the fat woman from "gilbert grape"
juggernaunt rosanna barr
Toad the short pr chick from West Wing she is like 4 9
Mulitplex man any burnett play boy bunny

I like your choices for Angel, Cyclops and Rogue, but I just can't see Carrie-Anne Moss as Wolverine - or x23 even.

In the same vein, I like Mystique and Pyro, but Sabertooth? nuh uh just does't work for me.

Does this thread have something to do with an internet rumor that the mutant Angel is going to be a girl on X3?

I heard different. They're looking for an androgynous male to cast the Angel character. At least he does look beautifully "angelic."

I love the modernized Scarlet Witch from the recent X-Men: Evolution series. We'd simply need a young male actor, preferably an unknown, and it'd work. ;)

;)

Incidentally, Depp would be good in just about any role.
