Message: <blockquote data-quote="Warmaster Horus" data-source="post: 7271323" data-attributes="member: 6785438">Well, now that I have the book, here's what I'm looking at for my first XGtE PC.  It's a lot different from what I had been originally planning.  This is a D&D Adventurer's League-oriented PC and is being built to 11th Level using DM XP because I have an existing Very Rare magic item I've been looking for a player to make good use of.Class:  Bard (College of Swords) 10 / Warlock (Hexblade) 1Race:  Half ElfStarting Stats:  Str-10, Dex-14, Con-15, Int-10, Wis-12, Cha-16ASIs:  +2 Cha at 4th and 8th (20 overall) then Resilience (Con) at 13th.  From there TBD.Magic Item:  Oathkeeper (Long Sword of Speed)Why:  I like melee-oriented spellcasters.  With this you get some interesting melee capabilities with the Sword Bard (Extra Attack, Flourishes, a Fighting Style, weapon acts as spellcasting focus) mixed with the Hexblade Curse (1/rest) and Hex Warrior (martial weapon, armor and shield proficiencies along with the all-important use of Charisma for weapon attack and damage bonuses).  At 15th level (Bard 14 / Warlock 1) he'll get a substantial boost in being able to use a d6 with his Flourishes instead of burning a Bardic Inspiration Die and be able to gain Tenser's Transformation from the Wizard's spell list.  He will miss a 2nd 7th level spell and the Bard's Superior Inspiration but that seems like a good exchange for the Hexblade capabilities.</blockquote>
