Xas Irkalla takes place in a labyrinthine world of horror ruled by psychic god-kings, where the darkest aspects of other worlds bleed into this one.
You play as an Endling: the only survivor from your home dimension, now trying to avoid the extinction of your species.
The setting is largely inspired by ancient mesopotamian mythology, satanic black metal, and The Road by Cormac McCarthy.
This isn't a dark themed fantasy game where heroes rise to overcome evil, this is a hardcore survival horror / psychological horror game where only skilled players will survive.
The system included, Strain, takes the idea of challenging the players rather than their characters, and brings it to an extreme level. This is a difficult and brutal game.
