XP Home -> All Programs

On my Win2k machine, shortcuts in my Programs menus that I don't typically use are not visible unless I expand out the menu listing. However, I don't have that on my XP Home machine. Is there a setting that I'm not finding to get this functionality on my XP machine (I've never set one on the 2k machine)? Thanks.

I've only seen that setting IIRC in the Office Suite. You can set it easily while in any of the programs in the suite by going to Tools->Customize->Options (Tab) and un-check "Always show full menus".

Ironically, I hate that "personalized menu" feature and always set it to show full menus. :) They introduced the feature in Win2000, but didn't default it to ON for XP machines in general... still there though.

Right click on the Start button and select Properties. You must be using the "Classic" menu, so click the Customize button next to that and then uncheck "Use Personalized Menus" (last item).

If you are using the "Classic Start Menu" settings:

Right-click on the "Start" menu.
Click "Properties"
Click on the [Customize] button
At the bottom, under Advanced Start Menu Options, scroll down and Checkmark the "Use Personalized Menus" option.
Click [OK]
Click [OK]

[EDIT: See, you try and be nice and help people, and someone swoops in and posts right in front of you :) ]
