Message: <blockquote data-quote="Lord Ben" data-source="post: 263975" data-attributes="member: 1396">I don't own the book, nor have I read it but I'll post anyways.A player of mine currently at 15th level in a paused campaign in Greyhawk wants to banish Iuz from the material plane by whatever means needed.  I originally told him, at 4th level when the player learned of Iuz, not to count on it since I didn't like the idea of Epic god-killing type stuff.  He said that was his goal (as an Aasimar Cleric of Heironious in Furyundony which is in eternal war against Iuz) until I killed him off or until he was successful.  Well, 11 levels and one year later he was still kicking and the module ended (RttToEE).   I guess we'll probably pick it up in the future and set off on fighting the empire of Iuz.  Eventually he'll want to challenge Iuz himself.  Perfectly fine goal IMHO, If Iuz is on the material plane and there is a road leading up to a castle with a throne then I think he's perfectly justified in wanting to walk up that road until he finds Iuz and then fight him.  I like having the Dieities and Demigods book and the Epic Book around as high-level options.  Options and rules are never bad in a campaign.  Have some wicked campaign plot (I won't bore you with it) which lasts until 25 or so and then maybe challenge Iuz.  If the PC fails then maybe he'll be rewarded with demigodness for being a martyr and he'll get a holy empire next to Iuz's evil empire...  Interesting way to end a campaign.</blockquote>
