Yay me. A job offer

After a few months of unemployement with no EI, it turns out that I have just been offered a job.

The past year has sucked for me. A job I liked ended up disappearing because the company went out of business. Then I spent just under a year hunting for a new job. I got a job that ended up having me move to Ottawa, but that job came to an end suddenly as well. Since I had only worked there a short time, I was not eligible for EI, and my old claim probably could not have been reactivated either.

Now I just got off the phone and it turns out I will be offered a job in Vancouver. I was in the process of booking a mover since I need to get out of this apartment by October, and was hoping eihter for this job offer to turn out, or expecting to move back in with my parents while I continued job hunting. I had hoped to get a job in Vancouver before since most of my friends from my previous job ended up there.

Damn I am glad that I am good at saving money.

Hoorah! I also moved from the "east coast" to the "west coast" many years back and I have not regretted it ever since. :) Vancouver is VERY beautiful.

I am glad you were able to find some employment - being out of work is no fun at all. :(

I feel you.

I'm a Michigan native staying with a friend in California looking for work. It's been almost a year since I've had full time work.

Thanks.

In my line of work, I pretty much expect to have to move. The move to Ottawa was not ideal, but at the time, it was for a job that I needed. And it while that job did not pan out over the long term, it did have a few good points. I managed to join a D&D game as a player, and spend Canada Day on Parliament hill.

But I am going to be very happy to move to Vancouver. Ottawa is not bad, but at this time, the majority of my friends live in Vancouver.
