Thanks to everyone who gave me all the advice on what books to buy in my previous thread, but here's another question I am mulling over and trying to figure out the answer to: I now have the Ghelspad Campaign Setting book, and I have been reading through it. I have decided that I am going to start the game based out of Mithril, and as it is an "epic" style campaign, the PCs will be ranging out from there. One of my PCs, however, wants to play a necromancer. I have told him I am not allowing "evil" PCs into the game, because of the storyline, but with a city like Hallowfaust, where the necromancers are depended on by the populace, I think it will be ok to allow him to be a necromancer, only one who leans more towards neutrality or something. So, here's my questions: 1. How are necromancers viewed in the eyes of the public in the areas of Mithril and Vesh? I know most sorcery and wizardry is looked upon with only the thinnest veil of acceptance due to it's connections with the Sire of Sorcery, but how is necromancy looked at in particular(accepted, reviled, kill on sight, etc...) 2. I have another player who wants to be an elf. As I haven't gotten my copy of the DM Companion yet, can anyone tell me what races of elves there are on Scarn. The only one I know of from reading are the Forsaken Elves, and she doesn't want to play one of those. Are there any races more like the Player's Handbook race of elves, and if so, where are they from? 3. I am not running the game until I get a copy of the CC, but I am holding off on buying it until the revised book is released. I have seen that it is due to release in January, but has there been any other date released that is more specific, or has it been pushed back? Finally, the books I have decided on for running the game are: Ghelspad Campaign Setting, Relics and Rituals 1, CC Revised, DM Screen and Companion, Mithril, and Ghelspad Gazetter. Supplemental books include the Monster Manual 1 and Tome of Horrors. Thanks again for all your help! Valar
