Panic rises in his chest as his body fails to respond to his commands, and his body has become a maze he is lost within. His head slumps, wet and matted hair splayed across his shaven head. While the warrior struggles to bring his body under control, the beating of his heart builds to a crescendo. It hammers against his ribs, stronger and stronger, as the sword spins toward him.</p><p></p><p>Then, with a single, almost deafening beat, the spell is broken. With a slow forceful hiss of breath, Nekokaburi pushes one hand forward, palm outstretched and two fingers raised. In the moment his arm reaches full extension, his eyes raise up to stare impassively at Shou Ren. With his own blade almost upon him, Nekokaburi leaps into action.</p><p></p><p>He takes a step backward, widening his stance and placing his weight on his back leg. The sword hovers into arms reach, and he pivots on his back leg away from the blade, his other leg raising and coiling for a strike. He comes almost full circle, and kicks his katana away and behind him with a powerful roundhouse, his foot slapping against the flat of the blade as it spins. Almost immediately, the sword turns and resumes its patient course toward Nekokaburi.</p><p></p><p>Nekokaburi darts in low toward the sorceror, then leaps into the air. One foot lands on Shou Ren's gauntlet, throwing the sorceror's arm wide and exposing his body. The other comes up in blur of motion, scything through the air to land under Shou Ren's chin. The kick catches the sorceror's mask, and Nekokaburi continues to somersault backward with the momentum of the kick, dragging the the sorceror by the chin and flipping him over.</p><p></p><p><font color="red">The scythe leaps within the labyrinth; dodges the touch of the blade!</font></p><p></p><p>The blow sends Shou Ren hurtling backward into the path of the blade, his robes flapping as his arms flail. Nekokaburi lands facing away from the sorceror, chi focused on his blade and his opponent. The warrior spits a wad of reddish pleghm to the ground disdainfully, then speaks, staring forward.</p><p></p><p>"Now you are the fool, sorceror. A katana such as mine knows its master through a bond forged over hundreds of years, through generations of tradition. It is a bond of bushido that no magic can master."</p></blockquote><p></p>
