[PLAIN][yba] hey Sabaron – how are you going to do Starship Combat[/PLAIN] In the Keth the Space Pirate thread, my character, Keth, is, well, a space pirate. I assume that, some time or other, he's going to get involved in ship-to-ship combat. How would this work? Sabaron, did you have something in mind? maybe it could work something like this . . . Attacking Big ships get +1 to all attacks, and Little ships get -1. Characters with any degree of Sig Style / Location / Modifier do not get the bonus when engaged in ship to ship combat, unless they have the Pilot ability: Pilot (5 xp) Characters with Pilot may apply Student, Expert, and Master of Styles and Locations, as well as Signature Modifiers, to moves generated in ship-to-ship combat. Ship Defenses Big ships have 15 Nat Hits, Medium ships have 9, and Small ships have 3. You can buy Hull Plating for a ship for 15 Yen (tripple the cost of what it is for characters)(provides +1 hits). Shield Generators may also be baught for 15 yen apiece (also providing +1 hits each). Ship Equipment Ships can be outfitted with any amount of kewl equipment. In general, ships can have the equivalent of anything that a character could have, but it costs tripple the yen. They come standard with 10 Yen worth of equipment per nat hit. So, Large ships have 150 yen worth of equipment, Medium have 90, and Small have 30. Buying a Ship Ships cost about 100 Yen for Little ships, 1,000 Yen for Medium ships, and 10,000 Yen for Big ships. Escape Pods and Other Tiny Things They have 1 nat hit, and -2 to attacks. Basically, they suck, and you are stupid if you think that you can use one in combat. Questions? Comments? Seem reasonable?
