Well I was intrigued by Year of The Zombie so I bought one of my first PDFs. I was curious as to what other people thought of it? For those not famaliar with the product here is a link to it:

I also wanted to know what people think about RPG Object's Blood and Brains series which I'm aware of but familiar with. Any other great zombie books out there?

I can answer questions about YOTZ, although I am only 70% through it.

I like it a lot..
But I may be biased.
I was one of the playtesters.

Buck is my character. ;)

Probably the second most biased person out there for YotZ, next to Tim the author, I can say I like it, for both crunch and particularly the flavour (in the form of the Diaries).

But heres what other have thought so far.

I have to say that the overall feel of this line is dark and gritty, and I believe sums up the zombie genre almost perfectly. Coupled with the incredible line of support material we have planned, I hope that everyone will love this line.

But as I said above, I'm a little biased :D

I picked it up the day it went live on RPGNow.com and I really like it. They give a lot of great ideas on how to run any of the various types of zombie games from grim and gritty to adding it into a more modern-day magic campaign. The art and the writing is very evocative. It's a 4.5 to 5 star product in my opinion.

Blood and Brains is also very good. However, the tone is very tongue and cheek. It has a wild assortment of Advanced Classes and zombie types. The tone is easily removed from the rest of the book for more serious or gritty play, however. This is one of my favorite RPGObjects books.

Its been on the wish list for a while now. It will be the first pdf to benefit from my next buying spree. I like the zombie genre. I am also a sucker for apocalyptic games two. The two often collide. :)

Its funny, but after i decided to drop my "to-buy" d20 list (M&M: revised, Thieves World, and some others) a bunch of other games came crowding in. Ex Machina seems real tasty, Hellboy sourcebook, and maybe Cyberpunk V3 (jury is still out on that one). Not to mention Transhuman Space has been in my mind's eye for some time. Thats not even mentioning pdfs like YOTZ.

Year of the Zombie : impressions

I posted an initial, off-the-cuff review on RPGNow and revised the review for posting on ENWorld today.

It's a fairly long review, but gives a good indication of what's in Year of the Zombie and what I liked and disliked about it.

I like Year of the Zombie. It's well thought out and covers a lot of ground without tying a GM to any particular mode of running a zombie game. It oozes flavour and is easily adaptable to other game systems because of the usefulness of the information. As I've said in my review, I rarely spend more than $10 on a PDF *and* am content with the expenditure afterwards, but this is $12 that I would spend again.

Anio.

Well i went on a mini-spree and got YOTZ. I haven't had time to read much of it yet, but the first part was sucking me in, before i had to resist. I likee. :)
