the celestial hunter as the staff slowly eats away at him. So there it is...let us work again. Suggestions...all ears! That my friend is exactly why I would have him [ the Celestial Hunter] wield the staff, again it goes back to Frodo, and indeed further back into both hindi and norse mythology that the good "hero" was slowly wasting away by the magic of the item that he carried. In Broken Sword By Pol Andersen the character is a Norsemen's son who is stolen by the elves, and raised in the land of fairy. His magical item the broken sword curses him to a fateful death once he uses it eventually killing him. In Wizard of Earthsea it is the unwise use of a school of magic. In Riddlemaster of Hed the characters troubles start when he out riddles a spirit for a crown. Perhaps he does not even know that he wields the Staff. In the end of the Lord of the Rings frodo was warn down and skeletal from his carrying of the ring. Perhaps everytime the Celestial uses the staff as a focus for his spells the staff drains a little of his strength, and sanity away. About the Staffs abilities I wasn't suggesting that you replace yours with mine but was rather well I dunno throwing out plausible Ideas. It is not that DF does not have undead, or even that there are no roaming spirits. It is just that most souls of the dead immidiatly head for Skaukator the City of the Patron, The Pale Lord, and that their are Special NPC Prestige classes that gather the spirits of the dead and return them to the City of the Dead.
