I really hate the term troll. Just because somebody is trying to start an incendiary topic is no reason to cast aspersions on humanoids of a tall and green demeanor. I mean, what if it is my character to start topics for no other reason than to create arguments? It makes sense for me to do so, haven't you read my history? As for all the whining and moaning, I have to do that in order to roleplay my 6 charisma. After all, I have a low charisma for roleplaying reasons, not because I'm a munchkin rollplayer.

Someone proposed the term "trule" in another thread. It avoids the confusion with the homophone "trole."

Troll does not refer to the monster, but to the practice of drawing bait. As in, a trolling motor (for fishing) - or the old 'trolling for pigs' gag (don't do that).

A troll on a board, forum etc. refers to one who trolls for people to get all riled up. The terminology really is accurate.
