A good player (to me) is one who has his (or her) character react as a ‘real’ person would act under the circumstances. This is not likely to be the same as playing the odds, but I’m prepared to give a lot of leeway to players who do this. A D&D player CAN “look at his stats, current HP, powers etc, and know roughly what his chances of survival are” but that is NOT the only way to play.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>I’d like to think that the majority of of gamers out there prefer the game to be an enjoyable time had with friends, regardless of their knowledge of rules.
